Rye Town's Creatures (RTC)
THE RTC ARE BACK
Rye Town's Creatures (often abbreviated to RTC and sometimes referred to as Rye Town Coven) are a gothic horror rap group, originally from England but since their formation, has changed line-up numerous times and is no longer strictly UK only. They were formed by MEMOREX on the 6th July 2006, though they were active under a different name in 2005 under a different band name, "MURDER AFTER DEATH (M.A.D)." The original lineup consisted of MEMOREX (as Ajax Widowmaker) and WAYNE INSANE and under this lineup were active as such until 2008. In 2008, SIRT joined, making him the first USA artist to join the previously UK only rap group. In 2010, SirT passed away from suicide during the making of the album RETURN TO RYE and because of this, only featured on one track NIGHTMARE CREATURES via the use of archive samples, and was released in 2012. It was in 2012 that TAUREAN J joined the group, who like SirT, was a detroit rapper in the horrorcore scene. No recordings were made under this new 3-piece lineup however, and after the 2012 release of Return To Rye, they disbanded, seemingly for good.
There was a brief moment in 2016 in which the RTC made a very short lived return, with the lineup of MEMOREX, HATCHETHEAD, TAUREAN J and JUZTIN SANE but only two new tracks were recorded, a remake of their 2005 track "Womaniser's Limbs Collector" and "The Witches Curse". Both were released as singles under the group name variation RYE TOWN COVEN and they both only featured MEMOREX.
They did however, return in 2022, 10 years since their last album with the lineup of MEMOREX (as Nightmare Nadia) and TAUREAN J and have released one new single WATER TOWER HIGH as a teaser for their upcoming new album "Banquet Of Witches." Memorex has stated this is the "new era of RTC". The return of RTC has also seen the reissue of most of the previous albums with more to come.
